A common way to arrange day care classrooms is to place storage cabinets against the walls to make "corners", as in block corner, art corner, etc. Chairs and tables are then placed in the space left in the center and maybe a loft platform added somewhere.

Here, in John Fisher's backyard pre-fab, we created a central "core" made up of a free standing loft framework which supports flip-down tables, storage and display. This combines with a wall system of ledger strips which support more tables and other features to make a more flexible environment.
